There’s a lot of great musicians from the Washington, DC Metro area, so here’s a playlist featuring music from the area!

  1. Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa (probably the first well-known musician from the area and known as the March King, and this is the official U.S. National March) – Warmup
  2. Chillin’ by Wale and Lady Gaga (“DC chillin’, PG chillin'” – I’m sure most have heard this one) – Standing flat and running
  3. I Against I by Bad Brains (DC is known for harDCore punk, and this one of the well-known, original bands) – Seated flat/accelerations
  4. Love by Chuck Brown, Marcus Miller and Jill Scott (can’t get much more DC than go-go, a sub-genre of funk that originated in DC) – Jumps
  5. Tryna Go by Rare Essence (another well-known go-go band in DC that started in the ’70s and still performing today. Another great go-go band is Trouble Funk that I’ve seen in concert) – Seated climb/pushes
  6. Where Do We Go by Soldiers of Suburbia (here’s an alternative/punk bank from Northern Virginia) – Seated flat/accelerations
  7. Pony by Ginuwine (something a little more familiar, Ginuwine, Elgin Baylor Lumpkin, was born in DC, named after a DC native NBA basketball player, and graduated from PG County Community College) – Jumps on a hill
  8. America by Tone P. (DC hip hop artists and producer, who produced some of Wale’s early hits) – Seated climb/running on a hill
  9. Mine to Keep by Rent Party (rock/alternative band from Silver Spring, MD) – Recovery/seated flat
  10.  It’s True What They Say by The 19th Street Band (fun band started by a couple that met in DC, moved to 19th St. in Arlington, VA, and you can find them playing around the area such as at The Hamilton in DC) – Seated flat/accelerations/sprints
  11. How We Do (JPOD the Beat Chef Remix) by See-I (great reggae band that performs every Wednesday night at the Eighteenth Street Lounge in DC, definitely check them out!) – Standing climb/jumps on a hill
